On the road to Vertebrae glacier, Megahoop, Spruce Pass, Wonderland and other spots, at about the treeline and perhaps about 1500 to 2000 ft above Vertebrae Lodge. Megahoop trees are seen on our immediate right and Wonderland is on the right in the background. Spruce pass is out of the picture, to the left.           Photo by Wendy Robinson

Snow on the steps of the bath house. This building was the first experiment with round-log construction, the learning ground for the Chatter Creek partners. It also provided the first indoor plumbing for Chatter Creek guests. On the December morning shown, the steps had not yet been completed and the hand railings are missing.

Dale and a friend. Pine Martins are common and are difficult to keep out from under the lodges. Here's a shot of a Pine Martin on the rear landing of Vertebrae lodge.
